Prenatal
Support

As a doula I can offer support throughout your pregnancy and birth in a few different ways. Below are a few suggestions on how we can work together. If you don’t see something that suits your needs, then please get in touch to talk through how I could support you.

Prenatal Birth Preparation
and Planning

This can be a full birth preparation and education programme tailored to your individual needs over three sessions or a one-off 2hr session to talk through whatever you have on your mind. That may be exploring your thoughts and feelings around this pregnancy or any difficulties you may be facing with your choices or care. It may be to unpack a previous birth experience so you can move forwards towards a more positive birth this time around. This is led by you and whatever you need support with prenatally.

I can provide these sessions throughout Scotland's central belt and sometimes a little further afield. If you are not sure whether I cover your area, just get in touch. Some locations may incur extra cost for travel.

How I can support you

  • Birth preparation so you understand the physiology of birth and how this can be supported.

  • Comfort techniques for labour and birth including breathing, massage, counter pressure, water, and aromatherapy.

  • Exploring your hopes and fears for birth.

  • Creating a birth plan so your wishes can be shared with your birth team.

  • Exploring different types of birth and where you can give birth so you can find the best option that suits your needs.

  • How you can advocate for yourself during your pregnancy and birth and how your birthing partner can support you.

  • Body balancing using Optimal Maternal Positioning techniques to prepare your body for birth.

  • Helping you to find trust in the process and in yourself and realising all the tools you need you already have within you.

Pre & Postnatal Yoga Classes

More than just a yoga class my Pregnancy yoga sessions provide birth education, breathing for birth techniques, yoga postures and lovely deep relaxation. If you commit to a full course, you will feel fully relaxed and prepared for birth. Pregnancy yoga is a gentle and safe yoga practice suitable for all and is perfect for beginners. My postnatal yoga sessions provide yoga for you and your baby. Each class includes yoga to restore and gentle tone postnatal bodies, baby massage and baby yoga perfect for some bonding time and use of the breath and relaxation techniques to help support you through

your transition to parenthood. Both classes provide a supportive community of like-minded individuals, and every birth and parenting choice is supported.

Kind words from clients

Having previously attended pregnancy and postnatal classes with Ashley, I decided to try out Sun yoga for slightly more challenge in my yoga practice. I enjoy the flows in the Sun yoga practice and feel I can challenge myself, but also take time to stretch and relax. I really look forward to my class each week.
